Old Man Pants

Look at how high those pants are! (5/6/10)

They are almost in her armpits! (5/6/10)
I came home from school today, and my mom had Laila all dressed. I just started laughing, b/c her pants were so high waisted! They look like old man pants! I laugh every time I look at these pictures!

Uncle Michael and Aunt Sara Visit

Here we are out to eat at Hart-C's, my brother's favorite restaurant in Longview. (5/2/10)

Laila looks like a sumo wrestler! (5/1/10)

Sara helped me with bath time. (5/1/10)

Laila with her aunt and uncle. (5/1/10)

It's a good picture of Michael and Sara, Laila is not so sure about it. (5/1/10)

Like father like son, they think they are so funny! (5/1/10)

Tuckered out. (5/1/10)

She looks like a fuzzy little ball! (5/1/10)
My brother and his fiance came to visit over the weekend. Well, they were only in town for 24 hours, so I guess it wasn't an entire weekend. Michael came home to play in the alumni soccer game. Luckily there was a baseball field next to the soccer field, so Kelly went and watched that game, and wasn't to bored with the soccer! The alumni won, I think the score was 8-0. The alumni has won for as long as my brother has been playing with them, they have a good group of older guys that are still active and play, so they beat up on the young kids.
My brother's fiance, Sara, has baby fever BIG TIME! I think it's great, b/c I can relate :) She is wonderful with Laila!
We went out to lunch at Hart-C's. It's a Thai restaurant in Longview, that also has HUGE hamburgers. Kelly had a triple patty cheeseburger! And that's not even the biggest burger they have, they have the Colossal burger which has four patties!

More of the same :)

Again, Grandpa thinking he's funny giving bunny ears. (4/29/10)

Big stretch! (4/29/10)

Laila Plays Bridge

In her bouncy chair, and copious amounts of drool! (4/28/10)

'Hey Dad, what do you have in your hand?' (4/28/10)

Laila and grandpa and their favorite past time, napping. (4/28/10)
The Bumbo chair in action! We use it a lot when we are playing cards, or when I am trying to cook something. I can't remember if I've already blogged about Kelly and I playing bride, but I'm pretty sure that we are the youngest people in history to participate in the game of bridge!

Family Movie Time!

The Crain family ready to watch a movie. (4/27/10)

Daddy and Laila getting their spots on the floor for the movie. (4/27/10)

Cheese! (4/27/10)

I have no idea why this is blurry, and I couldn't figure out how to take it off! (4/27/10)

Its tough to get a good picture of us both. (4/27/10)

That's a little better! (4/27/10)
We had a family movie night the other night. It went pretty well. Laila didn't make it all the way through the movie, which was fine by me b/c the movie was 'The Punisher'. We are really getting use out of the baby moniters. In the middle of the movie we laid her down and we would check on her when ever she squawked or cried. Usually we just had to reinsert her pacifier, and she was good to go. She's been sleeping through the night for about a month now. Her bedtime is anywhere from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm.
The outfit Laila is where in the bottom two pictures is a size 6 mos! She doesn't fit all 6 month clothes, but this one fits her perfect!

Sleeping, Sleeping, Sleeping...and a bath

Laila in her bath, she can sit up on her own now! (4/24/10)

This is how I carry her around to get her to go to sleep. (4/24/10)

Out! (4/24/10)

Laila can hold her head up on her own pretty good now. It's making bath time MUCH easier. She can sit up in the little bathtub all by herself. I usually like help when giving her a bath, but I've been able to do it by myself now! She still enjoys her bath, she likes to be in the warm water.
The middle picture shows how I hold her when I'm trying to get her to go to sleep. My dad keeps on saying that she looks uncomfortable, but she goes to sleep every time I walk around with her like that. I usually end up with a lot of drool on my arm, but it's worth it :)

Bumbo Chair

Kelly and I ran to Target to get Laila one of those Bumbo chairs. She has been trying to pull herself up when I have her on my legs, so I figured one of these chairs will keep her upright, and strengthen her neck muscles. Since this picture she has really began to enjoy the chair. She can be put up on the table or counter top, so she feels like she is part of the action! It also allows us to get some things done, or play some cards :)

Owen Loves Laila

My friend Stephanie helping her son, Owen, hold Laila. (4/18/10)

We went over to our friends house to pick up a jogging stroller. They are letting me use it for a while. So, hopefully this will motivate me to get outside a bit more! Also, hopefully the weather will hold out so Laila and I don't get down poured on. So far the saying 'April showers bring May flowers' hasn't been so accurate. It's more like 'April showers bring May hail!' I know that doesn't rhyme, but that's how Washington's weather has been! While we were over at the Toms' house, their son Owen was in awe of Laila. He wanted to be near her, and hold her. When Kelly was holding her he walked up and said 'You know what? I love that baby!' It was one of the cutest things I've heard in a long time!

Laila's Chins

Dick's Drive In

Laila's first visit to Dick's! (4/9/10)

Ready for her bugers! (4/9/10)

My dad and Kelly came up on Friday to finish up packing our stuff, and load it all up into a UHaul truck. We did it all on Saturday, the boys did most of the loading! On Friday, we went to Dick's drive in for dinner. It's a staple in the Seattle area, and Kelly loves it.

It's been a little hectic with the move, but we are settling in. Kelly is enjoying the new job, and I just started classes at the local community college. Hopefully our house will close soon, and we will get to move in!!

Great Grandparents

Laila with her great grandma Helen and great grandpa Dick. (4/7/10)

My mom and I went up north to Mountlake Terrace to finish packing up our stuff. We made time to go see my grandparents who live in Everett. They hadn't been able to see Laila yet, because they've had colds and they didn't want to get her sick. My grandma was so excited that Laila has blue eyes. My grandma has blue eyes, and out of her 13 grandchildren only one of them has blue eyes!

Two Months Old

I think she's done with getting her picture taken! (4/6/10)

So big! (4/6/10)
Laila is two months old! I can't believe how big she's getting. It seems to be going by fast and slow at the same time. I don't know if that makes much sense, but that's how it feels :) She just keeps on growing, and is becoming more alert and aware of her surroundings everyday!

Little Ms. Fancy Pants :)

Laila in her pretty outfit. (4/5/10)

With her little sweater and socks that look like shoes. (4/5/10)

Laila in her little sun suit! (4/5/10)
My friends and family have been incredibly generous in the gifts they have given Laila, Kelly, and me. The outfit above is from one of my friends I went to high school with, its so cute! She got it from the Neiman Marcus (I don't know if I spelled that right!) store, and I just think its funny that my baby has an outfit from there, and I've never even stepped foot into one of those stores! Thank you to everyone for everything!!! We appreciate it so much!!!

Happy Easter!

Laila's all dressed up and ready to go! (4/4/10)

Happy Easter! (4/4/10)
Laila and I went to church with a friend on Easter. I got her a pretty little white dress from Target, and she looked adorable! She was really good for the first part of the service, but then I had to run out and change her, I returned for a little bit, but then she started melting down b/c she was hungry. I tried one last time to go back in, but she was to cranky. So, we got to be there for half of the service.
After church my mom, dad, Kelly, and I went out to a brunch at The Mansion. Its a big old house that's on a hill in Longview, and it over looks the Columbia River. Well, it would if the mills weren't blocking it :) It was a little expensive, so we all tried to eat as much as humanly possible so we got our money's worth!

She's a drooler!

We have so many things for daddy, I wanted to put her in on of her mommy things! (4/3/10)

Ready to head out! (4/3/10)
We are getting full usage out of the bibs we got, she has turned into quite the drooler! Sometimes its just easier to put a bib on, so I don't have to worry about changing her outfit three times! The only downside is that it covers up her cute clothes.

Out and about

My friend Jen with Laila, in the outfit she got for her. (4/3/10)

Jailbird Laila! (4/2/10)

The little jailbird with mommy. (4/2/10)

On Saturday, I met up with my friend Jen at Starbucks. It was the first time that she met Laila so I made sure to put her in the outfit that Jen got her. It was great to see her, but in Longview you meet all kinds of interesting folk, and we had an overweight man in overalls who was probably in his 60s come up to us and tell us his life story. This was completely unprovoked, he just walked up like he knew us, and started chatting away! After he left, we got quite a laugh out of it :)
After Starbucks, I went to a baby shower for a friend from high school. She is having a little girl in a couple months. It's her second baby, and she looks great, not even in maternity clothes yet!
That night my mom and I went to 'The Bounty Hunter.' It was OK, its a good thing I like the actors in it, or it wouldn't have been worth going to the theater :)
