Our Little Peanut

She makes this face when she's stretching. (3/31/10)

Legs are always pulled up. (3/31/10)

She's all curled up like a little peanut. It makes me laugh everytime! (3/31/10)

Today we went to go get Laila her two month shots. She got two in left leg, one in her right, and there was an oral vaccine. She was NOT happy about the shots, but the assistant was very quick and we were able to stay and feed her and that really soothed her. Pretty much after getting the shots she slept all day. Hopefully, she'll be so wiped out that she'll still sleep during the night.
Kelly and I have been packing up all day. It has been helpful that Laila has been sleeping a lot, but I HATE moving/packing. But, it will all be worth it when we get into our new house! We are so excited about being homeowners and having a place of our very own!!

New Onesie Sizes

Daddy's Princess is officially in a bigger onesie size. (3/28/10)

I wonder how long she'll last in these onesies! (3/28/10)
Laila is out of the newborn size onesies, and up into the three month sizes! They are a little big, but she's much happier while we are changing her.

Thank You Grandma Leslie!

Just one of the adorable outfits Grandma Leslie sent Laila! (3/29/10)

Laila's Many Men

Laila had enough of the picture taking! (3/22/10)

Trying to get a picture of both Laila and her friend Conor. (3/22/10)
I felt like Conor was Wilson from the show 'Home Improvement' because I couldn't get a clear shot of his face! (3/22/10)
My friend from pre natal yoga, Tracy, and I got together the other day. We walked Green Lake, and then hit up Babies R Us. It was a beautiful day out, and unseasonably warm, so the lake was PACKED. It made for some prime people watching, all of the interesting folk come out of the woodwork when it gets nice out. Both babies had their fair share of melt downs, but it was nice to be with a mother of a newborn who understood what I was going through when she did cry :)

Daddy's Little Girl

Daddy's little girl sitting in the bouncy chair. (3/27/10)

The bib was a good idea because she can be a messy eater! (3/27/10)

House in Mountlake Terrace, WA that we've been living in. (3/27/10)

The house we brought Laila home to. (3/27/10)

Cute little panda outfit. (3/26/10)

How cute are the feet on this thing??! (3/26/10)

We started using the bib today while Laila eats b/c she's been getting it all over herself. It's part her fault, and part the bottles fault. Sometimes the bottles leak and drip down her front. It drives me absolutely CRAZY! They are the good bottles too! Then the other day, one of the nipples on the bottle didn't have a hole in it, and it took me a while to notice so I felt like I was starving my baby :(
The house we've been staying in has been in my family since the 1950s. My grandparents moved into it when they came to Washington from Minnesota and never moved out of it. My dad grew up in it, and we've been lucky enough to stay in the house and save some money. My family is quite fond of the house, despite the shag carpet in every room (yes, that includes the bathrooms and kitchen), the wood panelling, and the appliances that haven't been updated since the 1970s. We love it, but I think we might have rose colored glasses on b/c of the great memories we have in the house :)
Kelly got a job in Longview with Weyerhaueser, so we are in the process of moving. We are really excited to be closer to family, and to be able to afford a house! The houses were just to expensive for our blood up in the Seattle area.

Milk Please

She's getting so big! But she still doesn't quite fill it out. (3/24/10)

'Milk Please', so fitting for our girl! (3/24/10)

We put her in this adorable onesie today, after she messed on another one of course :) I think it's the cheaper diapers that she blows through. We might have to splurge on the name brand diapers to prevent further explosions, and save me some laundry.

I went up to Kelly's work today for lunch, and eight of his coworkers came out with us. I forgot to get a picture. Laila was perfect! It's so fun to go out when she's good. The coworkers were very impressed with her. She slept mostly, but she did have some awake time. The drive was also very good, which was so nice not to have her screaming :)

Daddy Makes Me Smile!

Daddy Makes Me Smile! It says so on my shirt! (3/23/10)

Kelly captured a great smile from Laila, in the perfect onesie!!

Trying to Catch Her Smile

(3/14/10)

(3/14/10)

(3/14/10)

These are just a few of the pictures that we take trying to catch her smile. We'll get a really good one soon! She's starting to smile so much more now!

House Hunting Ready

Ready to find a house! (3/19/10)

Gotta look good when you are out and about! (3/19/10)

Mom and I dressed up Laila when we were headed out to look for houses. We couldn't find socks to match, but that's OK :) She was perfect when we were out and about. She slept the entire time we were looking for houses. We got to look at six houses in two hours. So it was a full day!

Hippie Child

It looks like we are torturing her, but we were trying to show how little her arms look! (3/17/10)

Long day with daddy. (3/17/10)

Mommy and her little hippie twirler. (3/17/10)
The tie dye onesie is one of the first onsies that I got after I found out I was pregnant. I got it at the lake during the Fourth of July at the flea market. It's kind of a right of passage with my friends that already have babies, they all have the onesies from the lake.
The picture that it looks like we are torturing our little girl we think is hilarious b/c we are trying to show how out of proportion her arms are compared to her head at this age! It makes me laugh whenever I look at it!

Laila The Man-Eater

One of Laila's many boyfriends, Charlie West. (3/19/10)

I got this one facing the right way! Laila in her cute outfit, that she immediately spit up and drooled on! (3/20/10)
I forgot to rotate this one, then I couldn't figure out how to delete it :( (3/20/10)

I think Laila is wearing Granpa out! (3/20/10)

Granpa got her to calm down, she's in the zone. (3/20/10)

Laila 'holding' her own bottle. In reality, she accidentally balanced it with her hands. (3/22/10)
I went down to Longview to do a little house hunting, and while I was down there my mom, dad, and I walked the lake and went to a Mark Morris boys soccer game. The boy's head coach, Harold West, had a baby a week and a half before Laila was born. Charlie West is just one of the many boys in Laila's life. She has so many men chasing after her!

Tummy Time

Laila up on her forearms. (3/13/10)

Getting a little more tired, and about to cry! (3/13/10)

Playing the air guitar. (3/13/10)

Slappin that base, mon! Just like in the movie 'I Love You, Man.' (3/13/10)

Looking pretty with mommy, but I'm pretty sure she's about to cry and that's why she is all contorted. (3/13/10)

Laila showing off her chins! (3/13/10)
Kelly and I have been trying to get Laila some tummy time everyday, gotta develop those neck muscles! Sometimes I just have her on my chest, other days we stick her on the floor on a blanket. So far, she's not crazy about it, but we'll keep working on it!

Nap Time With Daddy!

Laila and Daddy sleeping away in the middle of a Saturday. (3/13/10)

Laila up close and personal. (3/12/10)

Laila and Daddy spending some quality time on a Friday night. (3/12/10)

Laila slept almost all the way through the night last night. She went down a little after midnight, and slept until 6 a.m., then she stayed awake for about 45 minutes, ate, then went right back out. She slept for another three hours, got up, ate, and now is STILL sleeping! It makes me nervous for tonight. She must be going through a growth spurt!

Pacifier Time

Laila with her pacifier, so far she likes it, it helps our sanity! (3/12/10)

We just introduced Laila to the pacifier. We are trying to only use it at night time. So far so good!

Before Bath Time

I love her little but dimples! This is right before her bath time. (3/12/10)

Flying high with daddy! (3/11/10)

Laila really loves her bath time. She is suprisingly calm when we are washing her, and usually when we are drying her. When we are dressing her is another story!

Mommy and Me Movie

This is one of the three or four outfits she had on this day. She had quite a few blowouts! (3/8/10)

Our little lady bug. (3/8/10)
Her onesie says 'Daddy makes me smile.' (3/8/10)

Laila and her daddy. (3/8/10)

Grandma Karol and Laila in her monkey suit. I think this is the last time that she'll be able to wear it, she's growing like a weed! (3/8/10)
Great Aunt Sandy, Laila, and Grandma Karol. (3/7/10)
I'm one month old today!! (3/6/10)
Laila on the floor at grandma and grandpa's place. (3/6/10)
She lasts about ten minutes in the chair. (3/6/10)

I just can't get enough of her! (3/4/10)

Grandma hanging out with Laila. (3/4/10)

After her trip down to Longview. She's tuckered out from it! (3/4/10)

So mellow here. This is where she had one of her first smiles. It just melts my heart! (3/4/10)

I don't know why, but she is the most calm on her changing table, so that's where I take the most pictures! (3/4/10)
Laila playing it cool in her baby Fuggs. (3/3/10)

Baby Fuggs! (3/3/10)

Laila in her fake Uggs, which we call Fuggs. They didn't fit very well and came off pretty quickly. (3/3/10)
So, for the past two weeks in a row I've been trying to make it a Mommy and Me Movie. At a theater in Bellevue, they offer a matinee at 10 a.m. that is family friendly. It's geared towards families, especially parents and their infants. The last two Wednesday nights Laila had rough nights, so I was to exhausted to drive down there. So, here's to hoping!
Kelly and I are watching 'District 9' as I type. I initially had no desire to see it, but so far its pretty interesting. Definitely different! Laila is asleep on her daddy's chest, and we are hoping that we can make it through most of the movie :)
